Jun 27, 07 - 11:23 AM Wilkinson & Sarah Warner Iron Mountain abt 1900
I am hoping to find information on Wilkinson Warner and his wife Sarah Clark Warner. They were in Iron Mountain in the 1900 census, and at the time they were both 74 years old. I imagine that they died there, but have not been able to come north to check cemetery or death records. I think he was retired from the railroad. Does anyone have any info on these two? They had four daughters, Sara Jane, Mary, Clara and Jenny, but I don't think they were in Iron Mountain at that time. Thanks for any and all help!
Feb 13, 07 - 1:16 AM Sister Mary Bernette, Iron Mtn. Sisters of St. Francis⁄nurses
What building⁄facility would hold the Iron Mtn. High School annuals?
Was there a Catholic High School in Iron Mtn. in the 1940's-1950's?
I have found that Sister Mary Bernette left the convent some years ago. Her given name at birth may have been Barbara. No last name known.
Would anyone be able to answer me, privately, if necessary, to help me find her birth name?
I have lost contact with her.

There are a limited number of Iron Mountain High School annuals at the Dickinson County Library in the Local History⁄Genealogy room. The library is in Iron Mountain.
To the best of my knowledge there were no Catholic High Schools in Iron Mountain, only grade schools.
Mar 17th, 2007 - 11:58 PM Re: Sister Mary Bernette & Patrick KAZDA, Professional Ice Skaters
Sue, thank you. If there is⁄was no Catholic High School in Iron Mtn. area, then would there be some history of ice skating, also at the Dickinson Co. Library? I "assumed" since she went to the convent that she had attended some Catholic High school.
I have found Patrick's burial place and spoke w⁄one blood sister of his. Sr. Bernette and he skated together and rather well known it seems.
If I can find more on him then maybe her surname will be found.
I sooo appreciate your response.

The Menominee Range Historical Museum in Iron Mountain might have some information on ice skating and Patrick Kazda. Also, the old Iron Mountain newspapers on microfilm at the Dickinson County Library might have stories on ice skating.

Nov 25, 05 - 6:26 AM Lookup Birth Registry
Hello. Would anyone have time to do a lookup for a birth registry and transcribe the info for me? I ordered film from LDS, found who I was looking for in the index but not in the filmed books. Alas, it seems sometimes the LDS does not film everything for whatever reason.
The index information shows this:
1905 - Roman M. Sowa - Norway Twp Book 4 Page 3
Roman was born 2 February 1905. Family records indicate he was born in Vulcan, not sure why his birth register would be in Norway Twp.
Thanks very much.

Birth Records for the State of Michigan are closed to the public unless the birth record is 110 years old or you can prove that you are a direct descendant of the individual.
